Te mapa
Dolyna is a town in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast in western Ukraine, set where the plains meet the foothills of the Carpathians. From above, the town lies along a river valley, with its centre on the lower ground and residential streets spreading along the valley and up the gentle slopes. Wooded ridges rise to the south, giving the landscape a strong sense of direction.
Dolyna has a long history of salt making, with brine springs worked here for centuries, and in the twentieth century the area became known for its oil and gas fields. On the map, industrial areas and pipelines sit alongside farmland, villages and forest on the edge of the mountains.
A Dolyna map poster shows a town shaped by valley and hills. The river runs through the composition, the streets follow its course, and the forested slopes frame the town with open space. It is a restrained, well-proportioned map, suited to the calm tones of the Paper and Sand styles.
The town follows a river valley, with its main streets running along the lower ground and the watercourse winding through the centre.
Wooded ridges rise to the south of the town, where the roads thin out and the landscape turns to forest and hills.
Old brine workings and later oil and gas sites have shaped parts of the town, adding industrial areas to the surrounding landscape.
