Te mapa
Duekoué is in the west of Côte d'Ivoire, in the Guémon region, and it grew as a junction of roads linking the mountainous west, the forest regions to the south and the centre of the country. On a map, the town gathers around these routes, with a central grid near the crossroads and neighbourhoods stretching out along the highways.
The surrounding land is mostly agricultural, with cocoa and coffee plantations spread across the former forest zone. Protected forests and the Mont Péko National Park lie in the wider area. Beyond the edge of town, the map shows scattered villages, farm tracks and patches of green space among the fields.
A Duekoué map poster emphasises the role of the roads. Long highways cross the frame in different directions and meet at the town, while smaller streets fill the space around the junction. The composition is open and direct, with the surrounding land leaving generous space in the margins.
Several regional highways converge at the town, forming the main structure of the map and explaining why Duekoué grew where it did.
Around the junction, a compact network of streets holds the market, schools and administrative buildings, becoming looser toward the outskirts.
Farm tracks and small villages spread through the cocoa and coffee country around the town, giving the edges of the map a light texture.
