Te mapa
Eagan grew quickly in the second half of the twentieth century, and its map shows it. Instead of straight grids there are looping residential streets, cul-de-sacs and business parks arranged around the interstates. Interstate 35E runs north to south through the city and Interstate 494 crosses its northern part, dividing the suburb into large, clearly defined sectors.
Water is scattered across the whole map. Lakes and ponds of every size sit between neighbourhoods, and in the south Lebanon Hills Regional Park forms a large irregular block of woods, trails and lakes. To the north-west the land drops into the Minnesota River valley, where the city meets the wide floodplain near the airport.
Eagan is known for large corporate campuses, including the long-established Thomson Reuters site, and since 2018 for the Minnesota Vikings headquarters and training facility. An Eagan map poster shows how these large footprints sit alongside quiet residential loops. The pattern is typical of Twin Cities suburbs, but here it is arranged in a way of its own.
The regional park spreads across the south of the city as a large, irregular open shape dotted with lakes. It is the biggest green space in the area and a strong anchor for the composition.
Dozens of small lakes and stormwater ponds break up the residential areas, appearing on the map as rounded shapes ringed by curving streets.
Interstates 35E and 494 meet near the northern edge of the city. Their interchange is a bold knot of ramps that contrasts with the soft lines of the neighbourhoods around it.

Koteā ko Eagan
Eagan is often where families settle for good. A map of it can mark a first house on a quiet loop, a favourite trail in Lebanon Hills or the daily drive to one of the campuses. It also works as a gift for someone leaving the Twin Cities.
Change the title to a street or neighbourhood name, add a date in the subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Pick one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint or Sand, and choose a digital file or a framed print.
