Edina Map Poster & Print
Edina borders Minneapolis to the southwest. Its northeastern neighbourhoods keep an older street grid, but most of the city spreads out in the curving, tree-lined streets of mid-century suburbs. Minnehaha Creek winds through the northern part of the city, and small lakes and ponds are scattered across the map.
In 1956 Edina opened Southdale Center, generally regarded as the first fully enclosed, climate-controlled shopping mall in the United States. The area around it grew into a dense commercial district of large blocks and car parks, very different from the residential streets nearby.
Centennial Lakes Park and the 50th and France district, a walkable shopping corner on the Minneapolis border, add two more distinct areas. An Edina map poster shows a carefully planned suburb where water and green space shape the streets.
