Te mapa
El Goloso sits on Madrid's northern fringe, inside the large Fuencarral-El Pardo district, where the city starts giving way to open Castilian land. On a map it looks less like a traditional neighbourhood and more like a meeting point of transport lines and big institutional sites. A commuter rail line, fast roads heading north, and large fenced areas leave broad blocks between the housing.
The name is closely tied to the military base here, a large complex that takes up a wide area on the map. Nearby is the Cantoblanco campus of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, whose buildings and green spaces add another distinctive pattern. Beyond them, Tres Cantos and the foothills toward the Sierra de Guadarrama complete the view to the north.
An El Goloso map poster works almost like an architectural plan. It shows rail curves, motorway junctions, a few compact residential areas and large open parcels. For people who studied, served or lived in this part of Madrid, it captures a place they know well even though it rarely appears on postcards.
The rail line that serves the area makes a long, clean curve across the map, linking El Goloso to central Madrid and the towns further north.
The large base associated with El Goloso covers a wide area with few streets. It appears as a bold, simple shape among the denser housing.
The Autónoma's Cantoblanco campus lies close by. Its spread-out buildings and green space give a different, looser texture from the residential streets.
