Te mapa
Eltham lies in southeast London, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. On a map, it is a varied suburb. The High Street forms an east–west spine, and the South Circular crosses the district from north to south. Streets of interwar houses and larger parks fill the space in between, including Eltham Park and the grounds at Avery Hill.
The best-known landmark is Eltham Palace. It was a royal residence in the medieval and Tudor periods, and in the 1930s it was restored with a remarkable Art Deco house next to the old great hall. The moated grounds are easy to pick out south of the High Street. The comedian Bob Hope was born in Eltham.
An Eltham map poster shows the mix of the district well: main roads, winding residential streets, broad green spaces and the old palace moat. It is a thoughtful piece for Londoners who grew up here or made their first home in the area.
The palace and its moated gardens sit just south of the town centre. They are a small, historic enclave surrounded by suburban streets.
The A205 cuts through the district north to south. It adds a strong line through the map and links Eltham to the rest of south London.
Eltham Park, Avery Hill and other green spaces break up the housing. They leave generous open areas that give the map room to breathe.

Koteā ko Eltham
Eltham is where many families have lived for generations, and where others bought their first London home. A map of its streets marks that belonging more precisely than a general city poster ever could.
