Te mapa
Errachidia lies in southeastern Morocco, on the Ziz River, between the High Atlas and the Sahara. Known as Ksar es Souk until the 1970s, it grew as an administrative and military centre, and much of the town was laid out on a regular plan. From above, straight avenues and rectangular blocks contrast with the irregular green strip of the river valley.
The Ziz is the lifeline of the region. North of the town, the Hassan Addakhil dam holds a reservoir, and downstream the valley opens into the palm groves of the Tafilalet. On the map, the river and its oasis appear as a winding band cutting through an otherwise dry, open landscape.
An Errachidia map poster captures that balance between order and water. The grid feels deliberate and calm, the older ksour and gardens along the river add a softer texture, and the desert roads leading away across the plateau give a sense of distance. It is a map about the value of water in a dry land.
The river and its irrigated gardens trace a winding line past the town, the only natural curve in a planned setting.
Straight avenues and orderly blocks show the town's growth as a planned administrative centre on flat desert ground.
Long, straight roads leave the town towards the Atlas, Erfoud and the Tafilalet, emphasising open space around the city.
