Te mapa
Forney sits in Kaufman County, Texas, on the eastern edge of the Dallas–Fort Worth region. The original town grew along the railroad and what is now U.S. Highway 80. From above, the old centre is a small, square-edged grid next to the tracks, much like hundreds of Texas railroad towns.
Around that core the map changes completely. Forney has grown fast in recent decades, and new neighbourhoods spread outward in loops, cul-de-sacs and curving collector roads laid over flat prairie farmland. The Texas legislature once named the town the Antique Capital of Texas, a reminder of its older, slower main street.
A Forney map poster shows both stories at once. There is the tight historic grid by the rail line, the highway corridor heading west toward Lake Ray Hubbard and Dallas, and the looser suburban pattern still spreading into open fields. It works well as a record of a town caught mid-growth.
The historic centre forms a small, regular block pattern aligned with the railroad. It is the oldest and most orderly part of the map.
U.S. 80 runs east to west through town. It gives the poster a strong horizontal line that links Forney to the wider Dallas region.
Newer neighbourhoods form curving streets and cul-de-sacs around the core. Their soft, organic shapes contrast with the straight lines of the older town and the farm roads.
