Te mapa
Fort Gloster is in Howrah district in West Bengal, on the west bank of the Hooghly downstream from Kolkata. From above, the river is the dominant feature: wide, gently curved and edged by industrial land. Mill compounds sit right on the bank, and a denser mix of housing and lanes spreads inland behind them.
The town's identity comes from the jute industry. Like many settlements along the Hooghly, it grew around large riverside mills that drew workers from across the region, and the mill name has long been used for the place itself. The pattern on the map shows it: big rectangular compounds near the water, then smaller, irregular plots behind them.
A Fort Gloster map poster shows how river and industry shaped the town. The Hooghly fills one side of the frame, and industrial blocks line its edge. Behind them, lanes, ponds and fields thicken into a close settlement. In monochrome it becomes a clear record of a Bengal mill town.
The broad river runs along the town's edge and is the largest shape on the map. Its width gives the poster a strong, open side.
Large riverside industrial sites, built for jute, sit on the bank. Their big, angular footprints contrast clearly with the fine grain of housing behind.
Inland, small ponds and winding lanes fill the space between buildings, typical of rural Bengal. They give the rest of the map a dense, hand-drawn texture.

Families linked to the mills along the Hooghly often carry strong memories of places like Fort Gloster. A map of the town is a respectful way to keep that history on the wall, whether in Kolkata or much further away.
You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, for example a family name or the years someone worked at the mill. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
