Te mapa
Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick and sits on both banks of the wide Saint John River. The downtown on the south shore follows a regular grid laid out by Loyalist settlers in the 1780s. Its straight streets run parallel to the water, and the Legislative Building and Christ Church Cathedral both stand close to the river.
Across the water, the north side has its own neighbourhoods, and the Nashwaak River joins the Saint John there. A former railway bridge, now a walking and cycling crossing, links the two banks. Its long straight span is easy to pick out on the map.
South of the downtown the ground rises, and the University of New Brunswick spreads over the hillside with winding paths and campus buildings. A Fredericton map poster brings the river, the old grid, the Garrison District and the slopes above into one clean composition.

A former railway bridge now carries pedestrians and cyclists across the Saint John. Its long, straight span is a clear accent on the map.
The University of New Brunswick climbs the slope south of downtown. Curving paths and roads there break from the strict grid below.
