Te mapa
Ganzhou lies in southern Jiangxi, at the point where the Zhang River and the Gong River join to become the Gan River, which flows north towards Poyang Lake. The historic centre occupies the tongue of land between the two rivers, so on the map the old city appears almost surrounded by water, with newer districts spreading over the banks beyond.
Long sections of the Song-dynasty city wall still follow the riverbanks, and beneath the old streets runs the Fushou Gou, a drainage system from the same era that remains in use. Ganzhou is also known for its pontoon bridge of moored wooden boats across the Gong River, a crossing that has been maintained for centuries.
A Ganzhou map poster turns this setting into a clear composition. The two rivers converge in a sharp point, the old city fills the space between them, and bridges and new roads stitch the surrounding districts together. In black and white the peninsula becomes the whole story: a city shaped first by water, then by the walls built along it.
The Zhang and Gong rivers meet at the tip of the old city and continue north as the Gan, forming a sharp Y of water that anchors the whole composition.
Stretches of the old wall follow the river edges, and the roads beside them trace the historic boundary of the city in a clean, continuous curve around the peninsula.
The boat bridge across the Gong River shows as a thin crossing between the banks, a modest line on the map with a very long history behind it.
