Te mapa
Gelibolu lies on the European shore of the Dardanelles, close to where the strait opens into the Sea of Marmara. On a map, the town wraps around a small, enclosed harbour. The streets of the older quarter run close to the waterline, while newer neighbourhoods climb gently inland over the rolling ground of the peninsula.
The name is known well beyond Turkey. The long peninsula to the southwest takes its name from the town, and in English both are called Gallipoli. That name is tied to the 1915 campaign of the First World War. Gelibolu is also associated with the Ottoman admiral and cartographer Piri Reis, whose world map remains one of the best-known early charts of the Atlantic.
A Gelibolu map poster puts the sea in charge of the layout. The strait forms a broad, clean band of white across the print, the harbour sits as a small notch in the coastline, and the town's streets gather around it. It makes a fitting piece for anyone drawn to the history of maps, straits and sea routes.

The coast runs along one of the world's most important straits. On the poster it is a long, gently curving edge between the dense town and open water.
Inland, the street pattern loosens as it climbs onto the rolling ground of the Gallipoli peninsula, and roads head off toward the villages and memorial areas further south.

Koteā ko Gelibolu
A map of Gelibolu speaks to several kinds of connection: family history, an interest in the 1915 campaign, a summer spent by the Dardanelles, or admiration for Piri Reis and his charts. The strait gives the print a strong shape that holds up well on a wall.
Add your own title, a subtitle and the coordinates line, perhaps a date or a family name, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the maritime theme particularly well.
