Te mapa
Giruá is a small municipality in the northwest of Rio Grande do Sul, in a region of rolling plateau given over largely to grain farming. The town itself is laid out in a regular grid, a pattern common to many settlements founded in this part of southern Brazil, and from above its blocks form a tidy rectangle surrounded by open country.
Beyond the urban edge the map changes character completely. Straight rural roads run off towards neighbouring towns, and the land between them is divided into large cultivated fields, marked by the lines of access tracks and the occasional wooded stream bed. The contrast between the dense centre and the wide agricultural surroundings is the main story of the plan.
A Giruá map poster works best when the frame includes some of that surrounding land. The town grid then reads as a small, deliberate shape set into a much larger working landscape, which is an honest picture of how the place relates to the fields around it.
The centre is organised into even rectangular blocks, a clear and orderly pattern that makes the urban core instantly recognisable on the printed map.
Long, straight roads leave the grid in several directions, tying Giruá to the other municipalities of the northwestern plateau.
Small watercourses crossing the farmland are often lined with trees, and their winding paths break the geometry of the surrounding fields.

For families rooted in the gaúcho interior, this is a map of harvests, school streets and the road out of town. It makes a considered gift for someone who has moved to Porto Alegre or further and still keeps the town close.
You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, including a date, and choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
