Te mapa
Göyçay lies in central Azerbaijan, where the Shirvan plain meets the first foothills of the Greater Caucasus. The river of the same name flows down from the mountains past the town. On the map the streets follow a fairly regular grid, softened by large blocks of gardens and orchards. Roads lead toward the mountains in one direction and across the lowland in the other.
The town is known across the country for its pomegranates. Orchards surround it on many sides, and each autumn Göyçay holds a pomegranate festival that celebrates the harvest with markets, music and food. Fertile soil and water from the mountains have made the district one of the main fruit-growing areas of Azerbaijan.
A Göyçay map poster shows a town where the built-up area and the cultivated land blend into each other. Straight streets give way to garden plots and orchard paths, and the river adds a single curving line through the composition. It is a calm, balanced map that suits a family home in the region as well as a flat in Baku or abroad.
The river comes down from the Caucasus and passes the town. It marks a clear line through the map and supplies the water that sustains the surrounding orchards.
Large fruit gardens, many of them pomegranate orchards, surround the town. On the poster they appear as open, finely divided plots between the residential streets.
To the north the land begins to rise toward the Greater Caucasus. Roads heading that way bend and climb, in contrast to the straight lines of the plain.

For people from Göyçay, the map recalls autumn harvests, family gardens and the short drive to the mountains. It is also a meaningful gift for relatives who have left for Baku or abroad and want a piece of home on the wall.
