Te mapa
Greater Napanee is the seat of Lennox and Addington County, between Kingston and Belleville in eastern Ontario. The historic town of Napanee grew up where the Napanee River drops over a set of falls. Those falls powered its early mills, and the river still runs through the centre of the town on its way to the Bay of Quinte and Lake Ontario.
On the map, the old commercial streets cluster near the river crossings, and residential blocks spread out on both banks. Highway 401 passes just north of town, a long, confident line across the page. Farther out, the municipality takes in farmland and rural roads that lead down to the shore. The town is also widely known as the hometown of singer Avril Lavigne.
A Greater Napanee map poster centres on that meeting of river and town. The water bends through the middle of the design, bridges stitch the two sides together, and the highway frames the upper edge. It is a clear, readable portrait of a small Ontario river town with deep ties to the county around it.
The river flows through the centre of town towards the Bay of Quinte. On the poster it forms a gentle curve that divides and connects the streets on each bank.
The older commercial streets lie close to the river crossings near the falls, where the town first grew. They form the densest part of the map.
Ontario's main highway passes just north of the town. Its long, steady line frames the composition and links Napanee to Kingston and Toronto.
