Te mapa
Guaíra sits in western Paraná, where the Paraná River forms the border with Paraguay. The town's streets run in a regular grid down to the riverbank. The water is the defining feature of any map here, a broad band scattered with islands that makes the town itself look small beside it.
Guaíra was once known for the Sete Quedas falls, a series of huge cataracts on the Paraná. They disappeared in 1982 when the Itaipu dam's reservoir filled. A long road bridge now crosses the river toward Mato Grosso do Sul, and the Paraguayan town of Salto del Guairá lies just across the border.
A Guaíra map poster frames the town against the river that shaped it. Its streets end abruptly at the water's edge, and islands and channels spread across the rest of the sheet. In black and white the river becomes a pale field against the denser street pattern, a strong composition for a border town that lives facing the water.
The river runs wide past the town, dotted with islands and sandbanks. Its broad surface takes up much of the map and marks the international border.
A road bridge stretches across the water toward Mato Grosso do Sul. It draws a thin, confident line over the river's width.
Straight, evenly spaced streets run down to the waterfront, so the town looks like a neat rectangle set against the river's irregular curves.

Koteā ko Guaíra
Guaíra holds memories of the vanished falls and of life on a border river. A map of the town is a way to keep that connection on the wall, whether you grew up here or once crossed the bridge.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The Blueprint and Paper styles suit a river town especially well. HD files cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in over 30 countries.
