Te mapa
Hamanoichi lies on the northern shore of Kagoshima Bay in southern Kyushu, within the area of Kirishima city. It is a coastal settlement with a small port, and on a map it appears as a compact cluster of streets pressed between the water and the rising land behind, with a river reaching the bay nearby.
Kagoshima Bay is one of the most striking bodies of water in Japan, a deep inlet dominated by the active volcano Sakurajima, which rises from the bay to the southwest. From the shoreline here the mountain is a constant presence, although on the map itself the bay shows as open water.
A Hamanoichi map poster is about coastline and terrain. The shoreline forms a gentle edge along one side, streets fill the narrow flat strip near the port, and roads fan out toward the inland hills and the wider Kirishima area. The composition balances water and land clearly.
The coast of Kagoshima Bay forms a clean edge along the settlement, with the small port and breakwaters adding fine geometric details to the waterline.
A river meets the bay close to the town, a thin line of water that cuts through the coastal plain before opening out into the bay.
The streets occupy the narrow flat land between the sea and the hills, a dense but modest pattern that thins out as the ground begins to rise.
