Te mapa
Hekinan is a city in the western Mikawa region of Aichi, facing the Kinuura inlet of Mikawa Bay across from the Chita Peninsula. The land is low and flat, and reclamation has pushed much of the coastline out into the bay. The map shows a sharp, straight shoreline of quays and industrial plots in front of a finer network of older streets.
The city is known for the Hekinan Thermal Power Station, a large coal-fired plant on reclaimed land at the edge of the bay. It is also known for older industries, including mirin brewing and the Mikawa roof tiles made across this part of Aichi. Its older quarters still have temples and narrow lanes that predate the industrial waterfront.
A Hekinan map poster balances two very different textures: the dense, irregular grain of the old town and the large, clean rectangles of the reclaimed land. Canals and the channels between reclaimed areas add sharp lines of water, and the bay opens along one side of the frame, giving the composition a strong edge.
Reclaimed land along the bay forms broad rectangular plots with straight edges, separated by narrow channels and lined with long quays and berths.
The thermal power station takes up a large stretch of reclaimed land at the water's edge, one of the most distinctive shapes on the map.
Behind the industrial belt, the older neighbourhoods keep a dense pattern of narrow streets and small blocks, clustered around temples and shrines.

Koteā ko Hekinan
Hekinan is a working city with close ties to the sea. Its map appeals to residents, to people who have worked in the region's industries, and to anyone interested in how modern Japanese coastlines have been reshaped.
You can add your own title and subtitle, such as a family name or a date, and adjust the coordinates line. There are five styles, and Blueprint suits the industrial waterfront particularly well. Choose a digital download or a printed poster.
