Te mapa
Hellín lies in the south-east of Castilla-La Mancha, in the province of Albacete, close to the border with Murcia. The old town rises up a hill crowned by the remains of a castle, with narrow, sloping streets winding between houses and churches. Below, the newer districts spread out in a more regular pattern toward the railway and the farmland of the surrounding plain.
Hellín is known across Spain for its Tamborada, when thousands of drummers fill the streets during Holy Week in a rhythm that carries on for days, recognised as a Festival of International Tourist Interest. The area also has a long tradition of working esparto grass, and prehistoric rock art in the nearby Minateda shelters speaks of far older inhabitants.
A Hellín map poster shows the steep historic core as a dense tangle of lanes at one side of the frame, opening into straighter streets and then into cultivated land. The shift from medieval hill town to modern grid gives the design depth and a strong sense of place.
The old town climbs the slopes below the castle ruins, and its winding, closely packed lanes form the most intricate section of the Hellín map.
During Holy Week the historic streets fill with drummers day and night, following routes through the centre that local families know by heart.
Beyond the built edge, the land opens into fields and dry hills, crossed by roads leading toward Albacete to the north and Murcia to the south.

Koteā ko Hellín
For people from Hellín, the map recalls steep streets, the sound of drums at Easter and summer evenings in the old quarter. It is a fitting gift for those who return every Holy Week, and a quiet piece of home for anyone living elsewhere in Spain or abroad.
