Te mapa
Hezhou lies in the northeast of Guangxi, close to the borders with Hunan and Guangdong. The He River, from which the city takes its name, flows south through the area, and the urban districts grow along its banks. On the map the river forms a meandering line through the centre, crossed by bridges and bordered by low, irregular hills.
The surrounding landscape is typical of this part of southern China: limestone hills, small valleys, rice fields and scattered villages. Roads bend around the terrain, so the orderly streets of the city centre give way quickly to winding routes through the countryside.
A Hezhou map poster shows that relationship between river town and hill country. The prefecture is known for Huangyao, a well-preserved ancient town in Zhaoping County with old stone streets and bridges, one of the better-known historic villages in Guangxi.
The river winds through the city, its bends dividing districts and giving the urban area a soft, organic outline on the map.
Rounded limestone hills rise around the city, their irregular shapes breaking up the road network and framing the urban core.
Several bridges cross the He River within the city, tying the two banks together and forming clear straight lines against the curving water.

Koteā ko Hezhou
For people from northeastern Guangxi, Hezhou is a place of rivers, hills and family ties. A map of the city is a modest, lasting way to keep that landscape visible in a home far away.
