Te mapa
Homestead lies near the southern end of mainland Florida, and its map is ruled by the square survey grid that covers much of Miami-Dade County. Section-line roads run north–south and east–west at regular intervals, dividing nurseries, groves and residential blocks into a neat checkerboard across very flat ground.
The city sits between two protected landscapes. To the west begins Everglades National Park, and to the east lies Biscayne National Park, mostly water. On a map this places Homestead on a narrow band of developed land, with the grid breaking up toward wetlands on one side and toward the coast on the other.
In 1992 Hurricane Andrew struck the area with devastating force, and much of the city was rebuilt in the years that followed. A Homestead map poster shows the result: a steady, orderly layout, with the air reserve base and the motor speedway adding large, distinctive shapes on the eastern side.
Roads laid out on the old survey system create a regular pattern of squares, filled with farmland, nurseries and newer housing across the plain.
The motorsport track east of the city appears as a clean oval, one of the few curved shapes in an otherwise rectilinear landscape.
West and east of town the street grid thins and stops, opening onto the Everglades and Biscayne Bay, two very different edges to the frame.

Koteā ko Homestead
For families who rebuilt after Andrew, or anyone who has driven through on the way to the Keys, Homestead carries a particular meaning. Its clear grid and open edges make a map that feels ordered and calm.
Put a family name, an anniversary or a move-in date in the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, then order a matte print with an optional wooden frame or get the HD files for $9.
