Te mapa
Itapeva sits in the southwest of São Paulo state, far from the coast, on high, gently rolling ground. From above, the town centre is a tight grid of short blocks. Around it, newer neighbourhoods follow the slopes in looser patterns. Past the last streets the map opens into large farm plots and long lines of cultivated land.
The name comes from Tupi and is usually translated as flat stone. The town was once known as Faxina, and older documents still use that name. Today it serves a wide agricultural region known for grain, cattle and large plantations of pine and eucalyptus. On a map, the regional roads that link these farms to town show clearly as they run out from the centre.
An Itapeva map poster reduces all of this to line and space. The orderly core, the streets fanning out along the slopes and the thinning roads at the edges show how an inland Brazilian town has grown. It is a quiet subject, and that suits a minimalist print. The clarity of the plan does the work that a crowded picture usually would.
The oldest part of town is set out in short, regular blocks. In black and white, this dense rectangle stands out clearly against the looser streets around it.
Newer neighbourhoods bend and stretch to follow the rolling ground. The street pattern turns softer and less regular toward the edges of the map.
Regional roads run out of town toward the farms and forestry land. They are the few long lines that cross the open space around the urban area.

Koteā ko Itapeva
Itapeva is often hung by people who grew up there or whose families come from the region. A street plan says home more quietly than a photograph. You can add a family name, a year or the coordinates to the title and subtitle.
Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand bring out the warmth of the inland plateau. Blueprint turns the grid into something closer to a technical drawing.
