Te mapa
Jacupiranga lies in the Vale do Ribeira in the south of São Paulo state, one of the greenest and least urbanised parts of the state. The town sits beside the Jacupiranga River, and its map shows a compact centre on the flat ground near the water, with the river winding through in loose curves.
The BR-116, the Régis Bittencourt highway linking São Paulo and Curitiba, passes close to the town, and its broad line cuts across the valley on the map. Around it, the land alternates between farmland in the flat bottoms, often planted with bananas, a staple crop of the Ribeira valley, and wooded hills covered by remnants of the Atlantic Forest.
A Jacupiranga map poster shows how the town fits into this landscape: a small grid, a meandering river, a major highway and a much larger area of green and hills. The Ribeira valley is known for protecting some of the largest remaining areas of Atlantic Forest in Brazil, and that openness is reflected in the space around the town on the map.
The river winds through the valley next to the town centre, its curves forming the main natural line on the map.
The Régis Bittencourt highway between São Paulo and Curitiba passes nearby, a bold line cutting through the valley.
Forested hills and farmland surround the town, part of a region known for its extensive remaining Atlantic Forest.
