Te mapa
Jalālābād lies in eastern Afghanistan, in a broad valley near the confluence of the Kabul and Kunar rivers. From above, the city is a dense cluster of streets and compounds set within a wide, green agricultural plain. Irrigation channels and field boundaries continue the pattern outward, so the edge of the city fades gradually into farmland instead of stopping sharply.
It is the capital of Nangarhar province and lies on the main road between Kabul and the Torkham border crossing with Pakistan. That route cuts through the city as a clear through-line. Jalālābād sits lower and warmer than Kabul, and that milder climate has long made it known for its orchards and gardens.
Mapped in fine line work, the city shows a mix of informal lanes and a few broad arterial roads, with the river's braided course nearby. A Jalālābād map poster records the settlement as it sits in its landscape: a crowded urban core, a web of fields and waterways around it, and the valley that shapes both.
The river runs through the valley close to the city, its channels and floodplain forming a strong natural line across the map, with farmland stretching along both banks.
The main highway linking Kabul with the Pakistan border passes through Jalālābād. It is the most prominent through-route on the poster and anchors the city within the region.
Around the built-up area, a fine mesh of channels and field boundaries surrounds the city, softening its edges and filling the surrounding valley with texture.
