Te mapa
Jammalamadugu is a town in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, in the Rayalaseema region. It stands close to the Penna river, and the map shows a compact town centre with streets spreading out across flat land, surrounded by farmland and the rocky, dry hills typical of this part of southern India.
The town is best known as the nearest base for visiting Gandikota, a short drive to the west, where the Penna cuts a dramatic gorge through the Erramala hills and a historic fort stands on the cliff edge. Gandikota is often described as the Grand Canyon of India. Around Jammalamadugu itself, the river and its floodplain shape the landscape.
A Jammalamadugu map poster shows the town as a dense cluster of streets set in a wide, open landscape, with the course of the Penna and the roads leading towards Gandikota and Proddatur adding strong lines to the frame. In black and white, the contrast between the settled centre and the dry country beyond gives the poster a spare, clear look.
The main streets gather into a compact core, with lanes branching outward in an irregular pattern that gives the centre of the poster a rich, detailed texture.
The river runs near the town, its broad bed tracing a winding line across the landscape and marking the route towards the gorge at Gandikota.
A short road leads west from town towards Gandikota, where the river enters its famous gorge, linking Jammalamadugu to one of the region's best-known sights.
