Te mapa
João Pessoa began on the banks of the Sanhauá River, an arm of the Paraíba estuary, and only later turned to face the ocean. Founded in 1585, it is among the oldest cities in Brazil. On a map the historic centre sits on higher ground in the west, with churches and squares above the river. From there the city stretches east in broad avenues toward the beaches.
The seafront is long and fairly straight, running past Manaíra, Tambaú and Cabo Branco. Local rules keep buildings near the shore low, so the coastline stays open. South of Cabo Branco the land pushes out to Ponta do Seixas, the easternmost point of the Americas, a fact the city is proud to mention.
Between the centre and the coast, the round lake of Parque Solon de Lucena marks the middle of town. The Mata do Buraquinho, a large patch of Atlantic Forest, shows up as a broad empty shape on the map. A João Pessoa map poster brings river, forest and sea into one surprisingly balanced composition.
The circular lake of Parque Solon de Lucena sits in the centre, ringed by roads and palms. It is one of the most recognisable shapes in the city plan.
The coast bends outward at the easternmost point of continental South America, a small cape near the Cabo Branco lighthouse at the edge of the map.
Mata do Buraquinho covers a wide area inside the city and is one of the larger urban Atlantic Forest reserves in Brazil. It appears as open space between dense neighbourhoods.

Koteā ko João Pessoa
João Pessoa is often called the place where the sun rises first in the Americas, and the map captures where its old river town meets the open seafront. It suits a family home as well as a holiday apartment by the beach.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, maybe with your street or a wedding date, and choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Sand. Digital files come in six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF for $9.
