Te mapa
Johor Bahru sits at the very end of mainland Asia, on the northern shore of the Johor Strait. On a map the strait is the defining feature: a narrow band of water separating the city from Singapore, crossed by the Causeway, which opened in 1924, and further west by the Second Link bridge.
The old centre lies close to the Causeway, with the Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque on a rise above the water. From there the city spreads north and west in a wide network of highways, housing estates and new developments, including the planned Iskandar Puteri area toward the western shore.
A Johor Bahru map poster frames the city at the meeting of two countries. The coastline, the Causeway and the dense road network north of the strait make a clear composition, and in black and white it is easy to trace how the city grows away from the water.
The road and rail link to Singapore crosses the strait near the city centre, a short, straight line that is one of the busiest border crossings in the region.
The water between Malaysia and Singapore runs along the whole southern edge of the city, giving the map a strong horizontal shoreline.
New districts and highways stretch west toward Iskandar Puteri and the Second Link, with wide, planned roads unlike the older centre.

Koteā ko Johor Bahru
Johor Bahru is a daily crossing for many people who live on one side of the strait and work on the other. A map showing both shores tells that story neatly, and it suits a home office well.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates, for example a family name or the year you moved. Choose one of five styles, including Classic black and white and Blueprint, as a $9 download or a printed poster.
