Kandāri is a town in Jalgaon district in northern Maharashtra, just outside Bhusawal, one of the busiest railway junctions in central India. On a map the rail corridor is hard to miss: long, straight tracks and yards cut across the area, and Kandāri's streets sit alongside them in a compact, irregular cluster.
The broader landscape is the Tapi river valley, flat and fertile, with the Satpura hills rising further north. Around the town, fields form a patchwork of rectangular plots linked by farm tracks.
