Te mapa
Kannod is a town in the Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh, on the broad Malwa plateau of central India. From above it has the shape of many market towns in the region: a close-knit centre of narrow lanes, a few main roads reaching out in different directions, and a looser ring of newer building at the edges before the fields begin.
The map is honest about scale. There is no grand boulevard or river frontage here, only the everyday geometry of a working town that serves the villages around it. That modesty is the appeal. The pattern of lanes records generations of building, walking and trading in a way that a photograph never quite captures.
A Kannod map poster is a personal object more than a travel souvenir. It speaks to people who grew up here, moved away for study or work, or still have family in the town. Rendered in clean black lines, the familiar streets become a simple, lasting reminder of where someone comes from.
The oldest part of Kannod appears as a tight cluster of short, irregular lanes, where the lines on the map sit closest together and buildings press against the street.
A handful of main routes leave the centre and run out across the plateau, linking Kannod with surrounding villages and giving the poster its sense of direction.
Beyond the edge of town the map opens into wide, quiet space, the agricultural land of the Malwa plateau that frames the built-up area on every side.
