Te mapa
Karor lies in Layyah district in Pakistan's Punjab, between the broad floodplain of the Indus to the west and the sandy Thal region to the east. The town is also widely known as Karor Lal Esan, after the saint whose shrine is one of its most visited places. On a map the town forms a compact centre in otherwise open, level land.
The surrounding countryside is shaped by irrigation. Canals and distributaries run in long, straight lines across the plain, and field boundaries follow them in a regular pattern. Roads link Karor to Layyah and other towns, crossing the canals at intervals. Toward the Indus the landscape becomes looser, with channels and seasonal land shaped by the river.
A Karor map poster captures a town set between river and desert: a dense core of streets and bazaars, straight canal lines through the farmland and the softer patterns of the floodplain beyond. The contrast between ruled irrigation lines and the more organic town centre gives the print a distinctive balance of order and irregularity.
The older streets gather around the town's bazaars and the shrine associated with Lal Esan, forming the densest and most irregular part of the map.
Long, straight irrigation channels cross the plain around Karor, dividing farmland into regular sections and giving the map a strong linear rhythm.
West of town, the land toward the Indus carries looser, curving patterns shaped by river channels and seasonal water.

Karor holds deep meaning for its families and for those who visit the shrine. A map poster keeps the town's streets and the canals around it in view, for people at home in Punjab or living abroad.
