Keşan is a town in Edirne Province in the European part of Turkey, in eastern Thrace. It lies at an important crossroads, where the main road from Istanbul toward Greece meets the route south to the Gallipoli peninsula. The map shows this clearly: highways converge near the town, and its streets spread outward from the centre along these lines.
The surrounding landscape is rolling farmland, with wide fields of wheat and sunflowers typical of Thrace.
