Te mapa
Killarney lies on the western side of New Providence, the Bahamian island that is home to Nassau. It is a mainly residential area, away from the dense streets of downtown Nassau. The map here is more open. Neighbourhood roads branch off the main island routes, and large areas of water and undeveloped land lie between the built-up parts.
The district takes its name from Lake Killarney, a broad inland lake in western New Providence that is one of the largest freshwater and brackish bodies on the island. It forms a big, smooth shape on the map. The international airport is also on this side of the island, and the northern coast is not far away.
A Killarney map poster shows a less familiar side of New Providence. Instead of a harbour and old colonial streets, it shows a quiet pattern of residential lanes, a large lake and the flat, low-lying land typical of the Bahamas. It is a practical, lived-in place, and the map suits people who call it home.
The large inland lake dominates the western part of the island. Its broad, irregular outline gives the map a strong central shape.
Neighbourhood roads branch from the main island routes in short loops and cul-de-sacs, forming a loose, low-density pattern typical of Nassau's outer districts.
The area sits away from downtown Nassau, with the airport and northern coast nearby. The map shows open, flat land rather than a dense urban grid.
