Te mapa
Kiryat Gat was laid out in the mid-1950s as a planned development town, and the map still shows it. Neighbourhoods sit in tidy clusters with curving residential loops, divided by wider arterial roads and green strips. Unlike older towns that grew outward from a single core, this one reads as a set of planned districts placed side by side.
The name refers to the biblical city of Gath, and the town sits in the Lakhish region, where the coastal plain begins to rise toward the hills. Around the built-up area the land opens into large agricultural plots. On a map these become broad, quiet rectangles that frame the denser street pattern at the centre.
A Kiryat Gat map poster also takes in the industrial zone, known for Intel's semiconductor plant, where large rectangular footprints contrast sharply with the fine-grained housing nearby. The railway and the main highways give the composition strong diagonal lines, and in plain black and white the contrast between industry, homes and fields stays clear.
Residential districts form separate clusters of looping streets and cul-de-sacs, each held in its own shape by arterial roads, which is typical of Israel's development towns of the 1950s.
Wide, simple blocks on the edge of town hold large factory buildings, including a well-known chip fabrication plant. Their scale stands out clearly against the smaller residential grain.
Farmland surrounds the town in large geometric parcels, giving the poster wide areas of open space and a clean outer edge.

Koteā ko Kiryat Gat
For people who grew up in Kiryat Gat or moved there for work, the map is a reminder of a very particular place: a young town with a clear plan and open country all around it. It suits a hallway, a home office or a gift for someone who has since moved away.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a street, a move-in date or a family name. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, depending on the room and on how much contrast you want between the town and the fields.
