Te mapa
Kiryat Ono lies in the Gush Dan area, a short distance east of Tel Aviv, and borders Ramat Gan, Givat Shmuel, Yehud and Or Yehuda. Its map is dense and residential. Quiet streets are lined with apartment buildings and houses, small parks and schools, and a few main roads carry traffic through to the neighbouring cities.
The name recalls Ono, a town mentioned in the Hebrew Bible that stood in this area. The modern city was founded in the late 1930s, has grown steadily since, and is now home to Ono Academic College. A Kiryat Ono map poster shows a city built at the scale of a neighbourhood, where most places are within walking distance and the street pattern is fine and intimate.
At the scale of the metropolis, Kiryat Ono is one piece of a continuous urban fabric. The poster makes its edges visible where it meets the neighbouring cities and the major roads nearby. Green spaces appear as small open patches among the blocks, giving the map a steady rhythm of built and open ground.
Streets of apartments and houses form a close, slightly irregular grid, filling the map with fine lines and small blocks of similar size.
Small parks and playgrounds are scattered between the streets, appearing as quiet open spaces that break up the dense residential fabric.
Kiryat Ono meets Ramat Gan, Yehud and Or Yehuda along busy roads, so its outline sits inside a larger, continuous city pattern.
