Te mapa
Kōta is a town in the Mikawa area of Aichi Prefecture, set between the city of Okazaki to the north and Gamagōri near Mikawa Bay to the south. On a map it shows the familiar pattern of the Japanese countryside close to industrial cities: clusters of homes and small streets, surrounded by the fine rectangles of rice fields.
The Tōkaidō Main Line runs through the town, drawing a long line across the flat land, with roads and residential areas gathered along it. Toward the east the ground rises into wooded hills, and the street pattern thins out as the slopes begin. The contrast between level farmland and hillside gives the town a clear two-part structure.
A Kōta map poster suits anyone who knows the town, whether from growing up there or working nearby. It is not a dramatic city map but a precise, quiet one, where the pleasure lies in the texture of the fields, the steady line of the railway and the soft edge where the hills begin.
The Tōkaidō Main Line crosses the town in a long, steady line, linking it to Okazaki and Gamagōri and giving the map a clear axis.
Around the built-up areas, small rectangular paddies create an even, finely drawn pattern that becomes a subtle texture in black and white.
To the east, the land rises into wooded hills where streets thin out, leaving open space that balances the denser lowland areas of the map.

Koteā ko Kōta
A map of Kōta is a personal choice, usually made by someone with a real connection to it: a childhood home, family nearby, or years commuting on the line to Okazaki. Its calm structure makes it an easy fit for a modern interior.
