Te mapa
Kotma lies in the Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh, in a belt of plateau country where forest, farmland and coal workings meet. From above, the town does not gather around one centre. It reads as a loose cluster of neighbourhoods tied together by a few main roads, with the edges fading into fields and woodland.
Coal is the reason much of this landscape looks the way it does. Mining colonies, service roads and rail lines leave their own geometry on the map: straight spurs, planned blocks of housing and wide clearings that contrast with the irregular lanes of the older settlement. The result is a plan that shows how industry and village life sit side by side.
A Kotma map poster turns this working landscape into a quiet study of lines. In black and white, the pattern of the roads and the thin threads of rail become the main subject, and the small streams that cross the plateau appear as delicate marks. It is an honest portrait of a town shaped by work rather than by ornament.
Colliery roads and planned housing colonies add straight lines and regular blocks to the map, a clear contrast with the older, more organic lanes of the town.
Railway lines serving the coalfield cross the area as long, steady strokes, one of the few features on the map that run perfectly straight for any distance.
Beyond the built-up area, roads thin out into farm tracks and forest paths, so the poster shows the town dissolving gradually into open country.

Koteā ko Kotma
For people who grew up in a mining colony or worked in the coalfield, Kotma is a place tied to family, shifts and friendships. A map of its roads is a modest way to keep that connection on the wall, especially for those who have since moved to larger cities.
You can add your own title, a subtitle and a line of coordinates, perhaps a family name or the year you arrived. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
