Te mapa
Kuala Krai grew up at a river confluence in inland Kelantan. The Galas and Lebir rivers join here to form the Kelantan River, which flows north toward Kota Bharu and the South China Sea. On a map the town is compact, built on the higher ground near the junction, with roads and the railway fanning out along the valleys and plantations and forested hills all around.
The East Coast railway passes through the town, and for a long time it was an important link between the interior and the coast. The rivers bring both life and risk. Kuala Krai was among the worst-hit places in the severe Kelantan floods of 2014, when water rose far above normal levels across the valley.
A Kuala Krai map poster is really a map of water and the land between it. In black and white, the two rivers and their meanders dominate, and the town sits as a small, dense knot where they meet. It is a quiet composition with a strong natural focus.

The line runs through the town and along the valley. It is a long, steady stroke that ties Kuala Krai to the rest of the peninsula.
Beyond a small grid of streets the map opens into plantation roads and winding river bends. The town's scale is set by the landscape around it.
