Kusa Map Poster & Print

Kusa is a small town in Chelyabinsk Oblast, on the western side of the southern Urals. Like many Urals towns, it grew up around an ironworks, founded in the late eighteenth century, and its layout still reflects that origin. A dammed pond on the river sits at the heart of the map, with the old factory area near the dam and residential streets spreading around the water.

The town lies on the Kusa River near its junction with the Ai, in forested, gently hilly country. Metalworking has long been central to local life, and the region is known for its tradition of artistic iron casting. Around the town are low wooded ridges typical of the southern Urals.

A Kusa map poster shows a classic Urals pattern: water held back by a dam, industry at the centre, and streets of private houses on the slopes around. Rivers and forest edges frame the town. In black and white, it is a quiet, clear record of a settlement shaped by industry and the river.

Factory pond

A dammed body of water sits at the centre of town. It was created to power the ironworks and still anchors the map's composition.

02

Private-house streets

Rows of streets lined with detached houses spread around the pond. Their regular, slightly curving lines follow the slopes.

03

River confluence

The Kusa River flows toward the Ai nearby. The two watercourses frame the town within forested hills.
