Te mapa
Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands, off the north coast of Sicily, and its town is the archipelago's main port. From above it is a compact, irregular island built from several old volcanic centres, with steep slopes and cliffs on the west and a gentler, more settled east coast where most people live.
Lipari town is the heart of the map. A rocky promontory crowned by the old castle and cathedral divides two harbours: Marina Corta, a small port to the south, and Marina Lunga, the longer ferry harbour to the north. Around them the streets of the old town press close together and climb the slopes behind.
Beyond the town a road circles the island, linking villages such as Canneto and Acquacalda and passing old pumice quarries on the northeast coast; in antiquity Lipari was valued for its obsidian. A Lipari map poster sets the dense town against this looser outer loop, with Vulcano lying just across the strait to the south.
The fortified promontory rises between the two town harbours, a compact knot of walls, churches and archaeological remains at the very centre of Lipari town.
Marina Corta to the south and Marina Lunga to the north frame the castle rock on either side, giving the waterfront a distinctive double curve.
A road loops around the island through Canneto, Acquacalda and the upland hamlets, drawing a clean, irregular circle just inside the coastline.

Koteā ko Lipari
Lipari is where many people first arrive in the Aeolian Islands, and a map of it recalls the hydrofoil into Marina Lunga, dinners by the small harbour and days spent out on the water. It also appeals to anyone who loves volcanic landscapes.
Set a title and subtitle of your own, add a date or the coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand suit the warm stone of the old town, while Noir sharpens the coastline.
