Te mapa
Salina is the second largest of the Aeolian Islands, and its shape is defined by two extinct volcanoes: Monte Fossa delle Felci, the highest point in the archipelago, and Monte dei Porri to the west. Between them lies a broad saddle around Valdichiesa, crossed by the road that links both halves of the island. From above, the land reads as two overlapping circles.
Unlike its drier neighbours, Salina is green and cultivated, known for capers and for Malvasia, a sweet wine made from grapes grown on its terraces. The island takes its name from the small salt lagoon at Lingua in the southeast. Its western bay at Pollara, set within the remains of an old crater, appeared in the film Il Postino.
A Salina map poster follows a road that circles much of the island, linking Santa Marina, Malfa, Leni, Rinella and Lingua, each a modest cluster of streets along the coast. The mountains remain empty and rounded in the middle of the composition, and the effect is calm and balanced, much like the island itself.
Two rounded peaks dominate the island, separated by a central saddle. On the map they appear as broad open spaces around which the roads and villages gather.
A small coastal lagoon at the island's southeastern tip gave Salina its name. It shows as a distinct patch of water right beside the village of Lingua.
On the west coast, the curved bay of Pollara follows the remains of an old crater. It is one of the most recognisable shapes along the island's outline.

Koteā ko Salina
Salina is often the island people choose to stay on when visiting the Aeolians, for its greenery, its food and its slower pace. A poster of its twin-peaked form is a gentle reminder of long lunches, wine from the terraces and ferries threading between the islands.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with the name of a village or the dates of a stay, and edit the coordinates line. Pick from five styles, from Classic black & white and Noir to Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and choose between a $9 digital download or a printed poster.
