Te mapa
Los Altos sits in Santa Clara County between Palo Alto and Mountain View, at the foot of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Its downtown is unusual: a small triangle of shops and cafés set between converging roads. It is walkable and low-rise, and it looks quite different from the strip malls elsewhere in the valley. From there, residential streets spread outward under a heavy canopy of oaks and other trees.
The street pattern is relaxed rather than dense. Lots are large, many streets curve, and much of the town has no sidewalks, which gives it a semi-rural feel despite its location. Foothill Expressway and Interstate 280 cut across the area on long diagonals. Toward the southwest, streets begin to rise and loop as they reach the hills.
A Los Altos map poster captures a well-known corner of Silicon Valley. Apple was started in 1976 in the Jobs family garage on Crist Drive in Los Altos. The map itself, though, is about calm: a clear triangular centre, a gentle grid of residential streets and the curving lines of the foothills.
The compact downtown fills a triangle formed by converging main streets. It is instantly recognisable on the map as the town's small, walkable centre.
Large lots and curving streets create a loose, open texture. This differs noticeably from the denser neighbourhoods of neighbouring valley cities.
To the southwest, roads curve and climb toward the Santa Cruz Mountains. The street pattern softens as the terrain rises.

Koteā ko Los Altos
Los Altos is often a long-term home, chosen for its schools and quiet streets. A map of it suits a first house, a family milestone or a gift for someone leaving the Bay Area who wants to keep a clear picture of it.
Add your street, a family name or a date to the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The poster is available as a $9 HD file or printed with an optional frame.
