Te mapa
Lucaya is the coastal district next to Freeport on Grand Bahama, developed from the 1960s as a planned resort and residential area. It faces the open Atlantic along a string of sandy beaches. Its harbour, Port Lucaya, with a marina and a marketplace, is one of the main visitor areas on the island.
From above, Lucaya is defined by water. A network of dredged canals cuts through the residential neighbourhoods, giving many houses direct boat access. The Grand Lucayan Waterway runs inland from the coast across the island. Wide, gently curving roads connect the district to Freeport, and pine forest and open land typical of Grand Bahama lie between the built-up areas.
A Lucaya map poster is dominated by the fine, comb-like pattern of the canals and the long line of the southern shore. It reads almost like an architectural plan, precise and ordered. The balance between water and land makes it an especially strong subject for a minimalist print at any size.
Straight, parallel canals reach into the neighbourhoods like the teeth of a comb. They are the most graphic feature of the map.
The harbour and marina form a sheltered basin on the coast, surrounded by shops and hotels and connected to the open sea by channels.
A long man-made channel crosses Grand Bahama from south to north near Lucaya. It cuts across the island as a bold, straight line of water.

Koteā ko Lucaya
Lucaya is a place of holidays, boats and long beach walks, and for Grand Bahamians it is simply home. A map of its canals and coast makes a fitting reminder of a honeymoon, a boat or a house on the water.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a wedding date, a boat name or a family name, and point the coordinates line to your house or marina. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint makes the canals especially sharp.
