Te mapa
Luntai lies in the Bayingolin region of Xinjiang, where meltwater from the Tianshan reaches the edge of the Tarim Basin. On a map, the town is a neat, mostly rectangular grid of broad streets. Around it, irrigated fields are laid out in long strips, and then the pattern ends abruptly where the desert begins.
South of the town the land flattens toward the Tarim River and the Taklamakan. Luntai is known as the northern starting point of the Tarim Desert Highway, which crosses the sand sea to the south. The riverside forests of desert poplar in the area are also a well-known sight.
A Luntai map poster shows how precise an oasis settlement can be: ordered blocks, straight canal-side roads and field boundaries, all framed by empty space. It is a minimal map in the truest sense, where the absence of lines tells as much as the streets do.
The town centre follows a clear rectilinear layout with wide avenues, a strong geometric pattern that reads crisply in black and white.
Farmland around Luntai is divided into long parallel plots fed by water from the mountains, forming a fine texture that fades out at the desert edge.
Roads lead south toward the Tarim River and the desert highway, straight lines that run off into open, unbroken land.

Koteā ko Luntai
For people from southern Xinjiang, or anyone who has travelled the Silk Road routes along the Tianshan, Luntai is a distinctive place to remember. The clear grid and open margins give the poster a calm, graphic look.
Write your own title and subtitle, perhaps a date or a journey, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
