Te mapa
Luwuk is the capital of Banggai Regency, on the eastern arm of Sulawesi in the province of Central Sulawesi. The town is strung along a narrow strip of coast. Hills rise steeply behind it, so the street network is long and thin, running parallel to the shore more than it spreads inland.
Along the waterfront, the main road and the harbour set the line of the town, with neighbourhoods climbing the lower slopes where the ground allows. Across the water lie the Banggai Islands, and boats link Luwuk to them. On the poster, the coastline is a dominant edge running the full width of the frame.
A Luwuk map poster is a picture of a place defined by its setting: sea on one side, hills on the other, and the town filling the space between. The contrast between the dense coastal strip and the empty sea and slopes gives the print a clean, linear shape.
The town stretches along the shore in a narrow band. Its main roads run parallel to the water, and the shape of the map follows the coastline rather than a centre.
Steep slopes rise directly behind the town, limiting how far streets reach inland. A few roads climb and wind upward from the coast.
The harbour is Luwuk's link to the Banggai Islands and other ports. It is drawn where the town's streets meet the open water of the poster.
