Te mapa
Lynn Haven sits on the northern shore of North Bay, part of the St. Andrews Bay system, just north of Panama City in Bay County. From above, the town is a fairly regular grid of streets and avenues. The waterfront, by contrast, is irregular, broken by bayous and small inlets. Pine woods and wetlands fill the edges of the map.
The town was founded in 1911 as a settlement for Union veterans of the Civil War. It was promoted by the publisher W. H. Lynn, whose name it carries. A Union monument from that early period still stands in town. In 2018 Hurricane Michael caused severe damage across the area, and much of Lynn Haven has since been rebuilt.
A Lynn Haven map poster balances two very different shapes: the straight lines of the planned town and the soft, jagged edge of the bay. The water gives the composition a strong, open side, and the bayous add fine detail. It suits homes along the Gulf Coast and anyone with ties to Bay County.
The bay forms the town's water edge. Its outline is cut by coves and bayous that appear as delicate, branching shapes against the open water.
Lynn Haven was laid out as a planned colony town. Its straight, evenly spaced streets and avenues give the centre of the map a clear, orderly structure.
Around the edges, residential streets give way to the pine woods, creeks and wetlands typical of the Panhandle. They appear as calm open areas on the poster.
