Te mapa
Mahārājgani is a town in the Siwan area of western Bihar, on the wide alluvial plain north of the Ganges. The land here is almost perfectly flat, so relief plays no part in the shape of the town. Roads decide its outline. On a map the settlement is a dense central cluster where several routes meet, and it thins quickly into the agricultural land around it.
Like many market towns on the plain, Mahārājgani grew one lane at a time rather than to a plan. From above, the core shows short, irregular streets, small blocks and tight corners. Straighter roads leave the centre and head for the neighbouring villages and towns, and with the ponds and field boundaries at the edges they complete the picture.
A Mahārājgani map poster keeps that contrast between the close-knit centre and the open country around it. Rendered in black and white, the network works almost like a diagram of how a plains town gathers around its crossroads. It is a modest subject, and a personal one for anyone who grew up there or still has family in the town.
The oldest part of town packs short, winding lanes into a small area, and on the map it shows up as the darkest and most detailed cluster.
A handful of straighter roads run outward from the centre toward nearby settlements, giving the composition a loose star shape.
Beyond the built-up area the map opens into the flat farmland of the Gangetic plain, with scattered ponds and village tracks.

Koteā ko Mahārājgani
For many people a town like this is simply home, the place where family roots are. A map of Mahārājgani on the wall keeps that connection in view, whether you now live in Patna, Delhi or abroad.
You can add a family name, a date or the coordinates of an ancestral house to the title and subtitle. It comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Order a printed poster, or buy the HD files for $9 and print them locally.
