Te mapa
Mahina is a town in the Kayes Region of western Mali, in the river country where the headwaters of the Senegal system gather. It is known as a stop on the old Dakar–Niger railway, and the track is one of the clearest features on its map. The line runs straight through open land, while the town's streets and compounds cluster close beside it.
The layout away from the railway is loose and organic. Sandy lanes curve between walled compounds, open spaces break up the built area, and paths lead out to fields and to the water. The contrast between the straight line of the railway and the irregular pattern of daily life gives the town a distinctive shape when seen from above.
As a black-and-white print, the Mahina map poster brings out that contrast: a firm line of track, the gentle curves of water and a scatter of small streets between them. It is a spare image that suits a place defined by movement and rivers more than by monuments, and it makes a strong piece on a plain wall.

Mahina lies in a region shaped by the rivers that feed the Senegal. Water and its floodplain edges add broad, curving shapes to the composition.
Away from the track, streets wind between clusters of compounds and open ground. The result is an irregular, cellular texture typical of towns in the Sahel.
