Mahuva lies near the southern coast of the Saurashtra peninsula, in Gujarat's Bhavnagar district. It is often called the Kashmir of Saurashtra for its unusual greenery. Coconut palms, mango orchards and gardens surround the town in a region that is otherwise mostly dry. On the map, that greenery shows as a softer, more irregular texture around the built-up core.
