Te mapa
Mandiana is a town in the Kankan Region of upper Guinea, close to the border with Mali. The surrounding land is savanna, broad and open, and from above the town appears as a moderate cluster of streets and compounds within a wide landscape. Roads and tracks lead outward in several directions, connecting Mandiana with villages and neighbouring towns.
The town serves as the administrative centre of its prefecture, and its core holds the main civic buildings and market. Outside the centre, the layout becomes looser, with compounds spaced apart and paths running between them. The area around Mandiana is known for artisanal gold mining, which is part of the regional economy.
A Mandiana map poster captures the shape of a Sahelian-edge town: a defined centre, a spreading settled area and long routes across open land. In monochrome, the network of roads and tracks becomes the main subject, showing how the town connects to the wider region.
Wide open land surrounds the town, giving the map broad space around the settled area and emphasising its routes outward.
The central streets hold the administrative buildings and market, forming the densest part of an otherwise loosely spread town.
Roads and tracks leave Mandiana in several directions, linking it with villages and with the border region near Mali.
