Te mapa
Manhiça lies north of Maputo on the EN1, the national highway that runs up the length of Mozambique. The town sits on slightly higher ground beside the broad, flat floodplain of the Incomati, one of the main rivers of the country's south. On a map, the highway forms a strong spine through the centre, with a loose grid of streets and neighbourhoods on either side.
Beyond the built-up area, the floodplain takes over. It is farmed for sugar cane and other crops, and the map shows long field boundaries and drainage channels running across it. The river winds through in slow loops. In wet years the Incomati spreads far beyond its channel, which is one reason settlement tends to stay on the higher ground.
Manhiça is also known internationally for its health research centre, which has run long-term studies on malaria and other diseases in the district since the 1990s. A Manhiça map poster brings together the highway, the town and the river country around it. It is a plain portrait of a farming town with quiet ties to the wider world.
Mozambique's main north–south highway runs straight through town. It is drawn as a bold line that organises the streets and markets along it.
Beyond the town, the flat river plain opens up with long field boundaries and channels. The Incomati itself winds through in wide, lazy curves.
Large cultivated blocks on the lowland show the scale of sugar farming in the district, adding broad rectangular shapes to the composition.

Koteā ko Manhiça
People from Manhiça, and researchers or volunteers who have spent time there, often stay attached to the town and its river. A map is a calm, unshowy way to mark that connection at home, in an office or in a shared workspace.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a year, a project name or a personal note. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as instant HD files or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
